Standard Features
Advanced Web Statistics and Reporting
Make-Tracks uses advanced log analysis software which allows you
to narrow in on the exactly the information you are looking for.
You can restrict your queries to specific date ranges,
directories/pages, and more. All reports contain links to related
reports so you can easily follow and research the trends of
users visits.
You can narrow down your report to just one visitor or page or as general
as a whole year or your whole site. You can filter out GIF and JPEG images or any other file
types which you dont want to include as valid hits.
Compared to most other packages which only offer pre-formatted static reports,
Make-Tracks offers the best reporting options you have seen.
Domain Name Aliases
Using domain name aliases you can have more than one domain name
point to your web site. You can have domain names from multiple
top levels, eg. com, biz, info, com.au, etc. Or you might want to
have extra domain names specific to a product or service, eg.
catalog.your-company.com, search.your-company.com, etc.
With domain aliases you only need to maintain (& pay for) one site structure,
but you can market your site under many different names or brands (or even countries).
POP Mailboxes and Email Aliases
All email for your domain can be accessed from the Make-Tracks POP (mail) server or via a web-based
interface. You can have multiple mailboxes so each staff member can have their own.
With email aliases you only need one mailbox for each person that needs their own mail access.
Multiple addresses can be attached to one mailbox. And one of the mailboxes can be designated as the 'catch-all'
mailbox. The 'catch-all' mailbox will accept mail for any addresses which are not already specified. It's useful for
misspelled addresses, etc.
Email Autoresponder
Keeping in touch with customers is important. Make-Tracks has
different options for automatically sending an email to customers
after a purchase or a request for more information or support. Emails can be personalized with
merged data for each customer.
Password Protected Directories and URL's
If you have any web pages or downloadable files that you only want
to be available to a select group of customers, you need password
protected directories. Using a password protected directory gives
you complete control over which customers or visitors to your site
can access restricted or special information.
Unlimited Download (Outgoing Data)
Busy sites can create lots of outgoing traffic. Some web hosting
companies will penalize you for having a busy site by charging for
excessive outgoing data. Make-Tracks has unlimited outgoing data,
so even if your site has thousands of hits per hour, you
wont be charged for the extra bandwidth. There is a limit on the amount of incoming data.
Incoming data consists primarily of emails received and requests to the web server.
WebDAV and FTP Access
Many new html editors offer simplified site update using WebDAV
technology. Make-Tracks supports WebDAV file management as well as
the standard FTP access.
XMLRPC and SOAP Web Services
Web services using XMLRPC and SOAP are new and exciting ways of
exchanging information in B2B (business to business) transactions
as well as quick queries for web based data, eg. looking up the
current temperature or getting the latest stock price.
SSL Security Certificate (shared or custom)
Visitors to your site will appreciate knowing they can order from
you without fear of their credit card number being stolen while
in transit. Make-Tracks offers two levels of security for your
site. The first level (which comes free with Advanced and Expert hosting) is
a shared certificate. All secure pages will be served from the
shared domain mtsh.com.au, eg. your-company.mtsh.com.au (mtsh is
short for Make-Tracks Secure Hosting). The second level allows you
to use your own companys custom security certificate. Using
your own certificate will allow you to serve pages from your own
domain name. Using a custom certificate is free with Professional hosting.
PGP Email Encryption
Similar to security certificates, PGP encryption will protect
customers credit card numbers and other personal information when
orders are emailed to your office. This is an important aspect of
protecting your customers privacy which is often overlooked at
many sites.
